The 13 Best Snorkelling Trips in Antigua

13 reviewed

Reef runs most of the length of the west coast, and Cades Reef is the stretch the boats aim for. These are the snorkelling trips that get you there properly: how many stops each makes, whether gear and lunch are in the price, which suit nervous swimmers, and which head for Paradise Reef and Bird Island instead.

Power snorkel by sea scooter at Freeman's Bay, Antigua. Guides spot turtles and a shipwreck, with included photo set and water.

“Our Sea Turtle Scooter adventure was great! The guides were patient, knowledgeable and took the time to make sure we were having a great time. They even took photos of the turtles, stingray, and all the sea life we came upon. Then they sent all of the photos to us, what a great gift to add to the trip. We brought a go pro and were able to mount it to the scooter, definitely recommend this!! The guides even swam down and took video for us! We may have even bought shirts to help advertise their business. Definitely recommend when you are visiting Antigua.”

Private Antigua tour by car and calm-water snorkeling at Galleon Beach, with Nelson’s Dockyard and Shirley Heights plus GoPro wildlife moments.

“This is an excellent guided snorkeling tour from the shore at Galleon Beach. This is not a boat tour but you don’t need a boat tour to see the sights at Galleon Beach. The experience is better in my opinion from shore. John the tour guide is very knowledgeable and is very good at finding octopus, turtles, and other marine life. He will pick you up anywhere on the island. John was born in Antigua and shares his knowledge of the island while driving you to the snorkeling sight. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Antigua.”

Bathroom, showers, change space, lockers and they sell the items you might have forgotten. The gentlemen are polite and full of answers to any questions you have about the area. The view of the ocean floor while paddling was amazing. It is an easy paddle, but if you are having a problem a boat that can tow is following. I loved learning about the creatures we were seeing. The snorkeling location is just your group and there are so many different fish. Personally, I could have…”
